Terms of Service

By accessing or using gistyo, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you use gistyo on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

gistyo is a private, account-backed service that lets users submit text, generate short summaries, request optional audio narration, store gist history, and create controlled share links for selected content.

• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.
• You may not share your account in a way that bypasses intended access controls or security limits.
• We may require you to authenticate before using private product features.

You retain ownership of the text and other content you submit to gistyo. To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, transmit, and process that content solely to provide, secure, maintain, and improve gistyo and the features you request.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and to ask us to process it.

gistyo may allow you to share summaries, source text, or narration using different access modes. You are responsible for choosing the right sharing settings and for understanding that anyone you authorize, or anyone who receives a valid link in a permitted mode, may be able to access the shared material.

You must not use share links to disclose content unlawfully or in breach of contractual, confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual-property obligations.

You agree not to use gistyo to:

• Violate any law or infringe another person's rights.
• Submit malware, harmful code, phishing material, or content intended to disrupt the service.
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or private share links.
• Abuse rate limits, scrape the service, or use automation in a way that harms availability or security.
• Submit content you are not permitted to process, including confidential or regulated information without proper authorization.
• Reverse engineer, probe, or interfere with service safeguards except as allowed by applicable law.

Summaries, gist titles, and audio narration generated through gistyo are automated outputs. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unsuitable for your use case. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them, sharing them, or using them in business, legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes contexts.

We may suspend or terminate access to gistyo if you violate these terms, create security risk, misuse the service, or if we need to protect users, providers, or infrastructure. You may stop using the service at any time.

We may change, improve, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that gistyo will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The gistyo service, software, design, branding, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not give you ownership of the service itself.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless gistyo and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date on this page and may provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use of gistyo after the effective date of revised terms means you accept them.
